Bed Stuy Block Party
The Bed Stuy block party I somehow never knew existed.
It’s so rare that I get to hear my favorite music out in public, and it was incredible to see a whole neighborhood come together for the old school jams, led by one of the most influential people in hip hop DJ Stretch Armstrong.
As cheesy as it sounds, yesterday was another moment where I fell in love with New York, and to be honest, my country again. I’m grateful to live in the city where this music was born and raised, and to be able to see it thriving in the streets like this filled me with happiness. I ran from the subway to catch the last half hour, sad that I had to miss the bulk of it, but even such a short immersion brought me all the joy I could have asked for and left me smiling ear to ear on my walk home (thanks for the chat Henri!)
